SAM ROBERTS BAND

I started working with Sam Roberts Band for the release of their album, All Of Us. They’d started making the record right as the pandemic began, isolated deep away in the Montréal woods. Similar to Broken Social Scene, I explored the world of GIFs to create videos for I Like The Way You Talk About The Future and All Of Us from the album, and for the third single, we opened up the family history archives of the band to find old photos and videos to create a video for the emotional and beautiful single, Youth. Following this, the band asked me to take a stab at putting together a fun and experimental film surrounding the album, which resulted in a documentary/live performance hybrid film titled, Sam Roberts Band presents: All Of Us.

Since then, we’ve explored a video imagining an AI that creates art with what it defines as “love” (Picture Of Love), and have collaborated with Kevin Drew (Broken Social Scene) in the director’s chair for two of their latest videos, Projection and Cascades.
